Robot vacuums and mops are becoming more capable. They pass our cleaning tests, and can take care of a variety of floors. Look for models that allow you to choose between several modes, utilize their charging dock to self-empty and clean up stairs.
A lot of the top models integrate with your smartphone. Check for an app that lets you save maps, schedules and select cleaning options.
1. Eufy Omni S1 Pro
The black and gloss gunmetal Omni S1 Pro from Eufy is one of most impressive robot vacuums and mop combos available. When I tested the S1, it was quick to map our downstairs, which has linoleum flooring in the kitchen-diner and bathrooms, as well as medium-pile carpeting and a large area rug. It was capable of driving up to walls and even across thresholds that are raised without issue. However, it had some difficulty getting down the stairs in one go. The S1 also did a fantastic job cleaning hard floors with its mop that moved smoothly on its flat side against the floor, and then lifting itself when it was near carpet or rug.
Before each mopping session, the docking station on the S1 automatically empties its dustbin and refills its water tank with clean ozonated filtered water. The dock also provides an extra-deep cleaning solution to the water. The S1 water tank is able to hold up to 12 cleaning sessions, but it will differ based on how often you use the mop.
Like all 2-in-1 robots the S1 requires regular maintenance to ensure that it's operating well. For this, you'll need to rinse out the dirty water tank occasionally to avoid it from clogging. It is also necessary to clean the swivel wheel and sensors regularly to prevent them from becoming clogged with dirt or dust. Overall, the S1 requires less maintenance than other combos.
2. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Combo Complete
Ecovacs' all-in-one robot vacuum and mop is an efficient solution for cleaning. The robot vacuum has 8700Pa of suction power and comes with a number innovative features including voice control and smart path planning that cleans furniture and avoids obstacles. The mopping capabilities of the robot are impressive. Rotating mop pads actually lift floors and scrub it instead of simply dragging a pad across the surface. The mops can be dried and cleaned at the base station, if required.
The robot is simple to setup and use, with a clear interface that walks you through the process. It comes with a rechargeable hand vacuum for those areas that the robot can't reach and two water tanks that are automatically empty and filled whenever required. It also comes with a variety of useful settings for fine-tuning your cleaning preferences.
The Deebot X2 Combo Complete is an excellent vacuum cleaner. It has a strong suction that can easily pick up dirt and other debris that other robots have trouble with. Its navigation capabilities are pretty good, although it can be stuck on small mats and rugs at my home (which you can mitigate by creating virtual boundaries within the app). Its mopping is quite good as well, with a pair of spin mops that actually lift and scrub the floors, instead of simply dragging the pad across it. robot vacuum cleaners reviews are cleaned using heated water and dried in the base station when required. 3. Dreame X40 ultra
Dreame launched the luxurious X30 Ultra earlier this year, but their new top-of-the-line robot vacuum and mop has even more impressive features. It boasts fantastic cleaning results and hands-free maintenance making it a top contender for our best mop and vacuum robots. Its superior mapping capabilities, RGB AI smart recognition, and an extended side brush will give you a thorough, custom-designed clean.
The X40 Ultra does an excellent job of vacuuming, picking up large and small particles from hard floors as well as carpets. It cleaned the dirtiest areas of our tests efficiently, avoiding pet hairs and other dirt. 4. Roomba Q5 pro
Robot vacuums are great at picking up dirt and debris, but they're not able to get all dust. This is why it's crucial to use your regular vacuum once every week, and especially to pick up dust in corners, on shelves, and in the corners of your couch. Roborock's Q5 Pro is a 2-in-1 vacuum and mop designed to accomplish exactly that. The mops also stand out with its 2700Pa capacity to take on pet hair and dirt on carpets and hard flooring. The Q5 was among the few robots that we tested that did not have problems with high-pile rugs and carpets. However, it was able to not remove kitty-poop or cable tangles. This isn't surprising, since it does NOT include AI-powered obstacle-avoidance.
5. K10 Plus
K10 Plus is the quietest robot vacuum we've ever tested. It also uses a unique mapping system that allows it to reach tight spaces and corners that other vacuums are unable to. The device also stores dust in a bigger dustbin which means you need to empty it less often. It also has washable filters which further reduces the cost of using the device. This robot can detect carpets and increase suction if needed. You can also mark off areas you would like to keep out of the app.
